hot and humid

Mark has booked a couple of days off with me this week. It's been very nice and we've been getting a lot of stuff done around the house the past few days. Today it was really hot and humid again and the weather threatened to rain all day. Originally we had half-planned to barbecue tonight but it didn't look like the weather was going to cooperate so we made other plans.

Late this morning we headed out to do some errands. We got caught in small showers a couple of times and were really glad that we had nixed the barbecue idea. While we were out running around we bumped into my parents. They had been shopping for a few computer chair (my dad's gift to my mum for her birthday -- it's next week). It's always funny when we run into them. For a medium sized city, Kingston is just a small town and you can't go too far without seeing someone you know.

It took us a while to get all of our errands done. It's funny how, even when you're out in a car, you slow down so much when it's really super hot. Hopefully the rain will help cool things off a bit. Something's got to give sooner or later!!

One thing that made me smile today: Joe's company didn't stay too long. They were very friendly and nice and all but we didn't have to entertain them because they were heading out to ride the tour trolley. Actually, they didn't even stay long enough for a cold drink. They arrived while we were out doing errands but only stayed long enough to fill us in on their plans. A couple of hours later, they came back and we all went out for dinner. Yay!!
