sweet saturday
I slept in this morning. Until 7:30 a.m. It felt soooo good. I can still feel the headache but it's definitely getting better.
Mark took today off. He went out early and had the car detailed. It looks terrific. He found this place not far from here that is super cheap and they do an amazing job. While he was out, I started cleaning the upstairs. By the time he got back, I had the upstairs done and I had showered. Early this afternoon, I started laundry and Mark cleaned the downstairs. By dinnertime, all of the laundry was done and the house was clean. I can't get over how much we got done in a relatively short period of time.
One thing that made me smile today: Because Mark and I got all of our chores and errands done today and we don't have to go anywhere or do anything tomorrow that we don't want to. yay!!

I'm feeling a bit better today, fragile but better. For a little while this morning I actually felt normal. Neat huh?? Anyway, I'm still quite braindead so here is a meme. Enjoy & have a happy weekend!
Once again, here is Friday's Feast, the 38th Edition:
Appetizer - Who is the one person you email more often than anyone else?
When I'm at home, it's probably my mum.
Soup - So far, which year of your life has been the most enjoyable?
I think that the past year has been enjoyable. Every year that I spend with Mark gets better and better.
Salad - Name someone with whom you have lost touch but would like to reunite.
I've thought about this before and there isn't anyone I can think of, who I've not been in touch with recently that I couldn't get in touch with.
Main Course - What was the tastiest meal you had this past week?
Wednesday night, for dinner, Mark made linguine with tomato sauce and 6/8 shrimps. They were huge, juicy and gorgeous. Those big shrimps are so sweet. It was delicious.
Dessert - Using the letters in your favorite color, write three words that describe your personality.
I'm not sure that I have a favourite colour but I like pink (P-icky I-nformed N-ice K-ooky).
One thing that made me smile today: It's Friday and soon I will be home with my feet up!!

well rested
Even though I slept most of yesterday, I still slept well last night. I'm back at work today. Feeling marginally better than I did yesterday. At least today, I can almost focus my eyes and they aren't watering like they were yesterday. Mark seems to be coming down with whatever it is I have though. It's a strange bug.
Other than that, there's not much to report. I've just been plugging away at work all morning. It's not too exciting but there you go. Sometimes, life is boring!

sick day
I didn't go to work today. Last night, I didn't sleep much and the headache I had been enduring since Monday afternoon was still pounding like something that pounds a lot. I literally couldn't focus on anything. When I got up (at 4:30 a.m., like we normally do -- sick huh??) I thought, no problem, I'll get up and start my morning and by the time I've finished working out and eating breakfast it'll be fine. In fact, it didn't get fine, it got worse.
The best part of the day I spent in bed, asleep in a lovely aleve-induced coma. Right now, the pounding is down to a dull ache and I've developed a charming sneeze / cough combo that feels like a cold coming on. This can't be possible though because I felt like I had a cold coming on a couple of weeks ago (which never materialized) and that would be mean.
One thing that made me smile today: In between naps, I bumped into "My Life With Morrissey" on cable. The movie was silly and badly made and I loved it, every silly second of it.

snow, snow, go away
Honestly, I know that we have not had a lot of snow this winter but holy smokes I'm sick of shoveling it. I did it this morning and I suspect that we'll be doing it again tonight when we get home. Fortunately, it's the light fluffy variety so hopefully it won't be here for too long.
Other than the snow, there isn't much going on around here today. Work is busy, we have a tonne of errands that need to get done after work which should be a lot of fun in the snow tonight. Let the good times roll huh??
One thing that made me smile today: Remembering my nana, Evelyn Forbes. She passed away in October 1997 and today is her birthday. When I was a little kid, I always thought it was cool that Captain Kangaroo had a birthday party for her every year. In actual fact, he celebrated birthdays on the first of each month and it was just a coincidence that my grandmother's birthday fell on March 1. I know that everyone thinks that they have the best grandmother in the world but that is simply not true. I know this is not true because I actually did have the best grandmother in the whole darned world and I can think of at least 9 other people who would totally support my boast!!
