If you follow me on twitter (@julep67) you may have noticed that I was raving about the new song by Camino 84. I have raved about Camino 84 here before (cuz rave-worthy!!). Actually, according to Spotify, the song I listened to most on their platform during 2019 was "Standing Back Up." I get a bit addicted to these songs.
Anyway, "Little Too Late" is the latest gem from Camino 84. I'm sure you'll dig it and check out their social stuff for information about a contest they're running right now. Dancing around to it will keep you warm on these cold January days...

As it's Friday, I'm sharing a song I really like, just because I can. Recently, and I mean over the past couple of weeks, so many folks I truly love have been releasing new songs that it's been tough to decide which one to share here. Hope you like the one I finally landed on for this week.
Free 3D Glasses!
While goodness knows I'm not a disillusioned millennial (good old Gen-Xer here) I enjoy the "earnest disco music" of Camino 84. A few weeks ago, Camino 84 released his latest single, "Standing Back Up." Last week, a video was released (see below). You'll need to have some old school 3D glasses to properly enjoy it. Bonus, if you live in the US, Camino 84 will send you some, for free, you just have to ask!! 3D or not, this is a solid tune with a great message. I listened to it on repeat for a while and it continues to grow on me with each listen.
As regular readers know, on Fridays, I share songs which have really got grip on my ear. Sometimes the songs are new, often they are just new to me. This week's song is of the "new to me" variety.
Last week, an old friend of mine sent me the link to the video I'm sharing today. He thought I might like it and he was right. I watched the video on my phone and immediately threw it onto my stereo. I lost count of how many times I listened to it but, let's say it was a few more than "several." I was completely unfamiliar with Camino 84 (and the vocalist is Sidney Gish, another artist I knew nothing about before hearing this clip). Down the rabbit hole I went, thank you internet. Both of these very talented young folks are worth checking out.
Funny thing is, I had a pretty shitty week. I don't have them very often but last week was just a bit crappier than it should/could have been and I was feeling pretty dragged out and down. Hearing the opening beats of this song lifted my spirits. So weird, I'm not just saying that. I actually felt lighter inside. It didn't undo the shit week but it did certainly pull me out of my blue funk for a bit. That's what I love about music, it can feed your soul, just when you need it the most.
