because it's Tuesday - week of February 6

When one of your favourite artists covers another of your favourite band, particularly when the song they chose to cover is one of your top 5 songs of that favourite band the results can be magical.  Imagine how excited I was, oh so many years ago now, to learn that Rufus Wainwright had covered "Across The Universe." 

The original version of it was recorded by the Beatles in 1969 to contribute to a charity album,  A version also appears on Let It Be.  To me, song is absolutely beautiful and I'm sure, one of the very few songs I like which contain Sanskrit lyrics.

Give a listen to the 2002 version which Rufus recorded.  He's lovely, it's lovely.
