Cancon Thursday - Battlefords

So on Thursdays, I share a Canadian song or artist. Today I'm sharing a song by Hawksley Workman, Battlefords (I really love this song!).

The last show I had tickets for before we all got sent to our rooms was the Kingston date for the Hawksley Workman / Sarah Slean tour. A few weeks ago, I watched a wonderful streamed event called "Hawksley Night In Canada." It was the closest thing I was going to get to seeing that show (it's been rescheduled but that's months and months away). Broadcast live from his father-in-law's basement in Peterborough, HNIC was super fun and included a fun phone in segment (Hawk Talk) and a Pet Song.

Anyway, tonight is Hawskley Night in Canada, Part 2. Click on this link for more information and have a great day kids xo

Not another broken arm in this heat
He fell bringing pop and chips home one handed
We weren't invincible
And the sensei said he'll sit out the tournament

Way Back Wednesday - Perfectly Good Guitar

Hey kids,

Two days in a row... how 'bout that!?

As I said yesterday, not sure if this going to become a regular thing again anytime soon but as long as I feel like posting, I'm going to keep it up. Sound good?

Today, for Way Back Wednesday, I'm sharing a song by the incredible John Hiatt. It's a fantastic live version of the title track from his 1993 album "Perfectly Good Guitar"

Hope you enjoy it. Have a good Wednesday. Also, stay safe and healthy xo

There ought to be a law with no bail
Smash a guitar, and you go to jail
With no chance for early parole
You don't get out till you get some soul

Because It's Tuesday - week of June 16

Well, it's been a little while since I have posted here.

The whole isolated / pandemic / work from home thing has kept me very busy and while I have intended to post here, it's just not happened. Not in a while anyway. One of the ways I was soothing myself over the past 3 months was by re-watching The West Wing.  Watching President Barlet, Josh, Charlie, Toby and CJ (and the rest) made me feel better and kept me from watching the news too much.

So I'm back, not going to promise to do this regularly or anything but I'm posting today and it feels pretty nice.

As it's Tuesday, I'm sharing a cover with you. It's a song that I have a lot of affection for and have had since I was in 7th grade. I'm not going to say much more about it, in fact, you may find that I'm talking less about the music and just sharing it for now. So here you go, without further discussion, Seaweed's 1993 (which you probably heard on the Clerks soundtrack back in 1994) version of Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way" from their 1977 album, Rumours.

Thanks to Bill for reminding me about this one. It's super fab!!

If I could
Maybe I'd give you my world
How can I
When you won't take it from me
