mark in the park

I survived the great asbestos removal of 2008. My colleagues and I were in meetings (offsite) on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. Mid-afternoon on Thursday, I went home to do a couple of things and then yesterday, we were back in the office again. Our database server was down all week so that made doing huge parts of our jobs impossible. I suspect that it'll be very busy for the first half of next week while we catch up (if things are back up and running on Monday).

Today was a lovely lazy-ish day. We didn't really sleep in (we never did really and now that we have Sam, he definitely doesn't let us). We did have a mid-morning nap though, all three of us. It was really nice. This afternoon we did some errands and I've been doing laundry. Not anything crazy exciting, is it?

Earlier we were sitting outside, enjoying a pair of new chairs we purchased at Costco when our neighbour's party got a little noisy. This is an annual party (not a weekly party) so we don't mind it. I wouldn't even mention it if they played music that I like but they don't. They also smoke cigarettes, the smell of which makes me sick (literally) so it drove us in the house. Just the way the breeze was blowing, it was going straight up my nose.

So yeah, that's it. Not sure what tomorrow will bring. We have a lot of stuff to do in the garden, mowing, weeding, planting some stuff, de-pooping, that kind of stuff.

Today was a deliciously lazy day. sooo good actually that I feel a little bit bad about how little I did. Of course, that soon passes and I sip some more diet root beer. oh yeah, it's good.

I spent the morning playing with my camera and watching a bunch of Coronation Street episodes which were in the DVR and the repeat of the Westminster Kennel show on the TSN HD Channel. I've had some fun with black and white and farting around with different ISO settings.

Maybe it wasn't so lazy after all, I did learn something I suppose. We also found out that we have Bella for at least another week (yay). Also, we discovered that a lady up in Lyndhurst rescues Australian Cattle dogs. We may get in touch with her once our dog sitting gig is up. We really really want to get a dog now and are really excited about it.

So yeah, that's it: lazy day, coro, black and white photography and dogs. What more can you ask for on a stormy Saturday?

another snowy day

new year's snow

It is a winter wonderland outside our door right now. It's getting cold too. Really cold, the forecast tells us so. At least it's not snowing anymore, that's something.

We had a pretty lazy day around here. I was up in the night for a while which was no fun. I woke up, wide awake, at 4 a.m. I sat up in bed and thought, all week, when the alarm went off, I wanted to throw it through the wall. I could have slept for Canada, seriously. Here it was, Saturday morning (well night nearly) and I was wide awake. I was able to get back to sleep again after an hour or so and did sleep in 'til 8:30 a.m. All day though, my clock has been a little off and I've felt a little sleepy.

When I was up at 4 a.m., I did make a little to-do list. Much to my surprise, I actually crossed a couple of things off of it. I did clean the bathroom and I also baked some cookies. I may even get the laundry sorted and hit that as soon as I get up tomorrow morning.

I must say, I absolutely don't mind hibernating a little during these winter storm weekends.

treat?

treat?

I love a lazy Saturday. This is the second weekend in a row that I have been able to indulge myself by doing absolutely nothing all day on a Saturday.

We never left the house all day. Well, that's not entirely true, Mark stepped out onto the front porch when a friend popped by to pick up a birthday gift that we made for his wife. Other than that though, we stayed home. It was so nice. It was also pretty necessary.

Something Mark ate last night upset his stomach and he was up a fair bit in the night last night. He had planned to work a bit today but I let him sleep in (to make up for him being up for half of the night) and then refused to let him go out. He didn't resist too much.

Tomorrow will not be so lazy. I have some housework that I need to deal with, stuff I avoided doing today. I'm actually not dreading it though, part of what I want to do tomorrow involves moving all of the living room furniture around so I can clean the room properly and get my christmas lights up. The tree may have to wait until later in the week though because Bella has a bad habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. She's cute but she can get in the way sometimes.

Frankly, if I don't have to leave the house tomorrow too, that won't hurt my feelings. There is a winter storm watch happening in this region right now and I'm in now big hurry to go anywhere outside of my house if I don't have to.

just lazy thanks

I feel really tired right now, even though I had a relatively lazy day.

We were up and out pretty early this morning, did some errands and stuff. I had to go into the office for an hour or so (poor Mark went with me - it was pretty boring for him). We had the best part of the afternoon at home and did very little.

It was nice but now I'm sleepy. Sleepy is something I should not be.

Oh well, I figure it's just the weeks of overtime catching up with me. It was bound to happen I suppose!
