Finally Friday - Love For Sale

I often have difficulty sleeping. I have no trouble falling asleep, but it's a challenge for me to stay asleep. Typically this happens a few times a week. This week, it's been going on every night, and I'm worn out. Bone tired and quite brain-dead are the feelings of the day today.

Hopefully, it will stop soon, and I'll get some much-needed rest. It feels like as the month winds down, I'm winding down too, like a clock or something. I know I'm not making sense; I guess that's the point. I'm pooped.

I'm pretty relieved that it's Finally Friday. Today's Finally Friday song is one I heard last night, for the first time in a good long while, and it instantly perked me up and made me feel just a bit less sleepy. "Love for Sale" by Talking Heads was released on their 1986 album, "True Stories." 

Due to my exhaustion, I'll not say much more than I really do love this song. I hope you like it too. Also, if you're looking for a fun movie to watch this weekend, check out "True Stories." You won't be disappointed, I promise.

Not Guilty Just Pleasure - (Nothing But) Flowers

With everything that has been going on this week, I forgot to post here. I sort of wish I hadn't. It's been an eerie week and I probably should have been writing about it.

It's day four of me working from work. Work has been (thankfully) very busy. I feel grateful to have a job that is not only keeping me busy and employed but has also allowed me to work from home during this crisis. My deepest thanks goes out to front line workers everywhere who can't be isolated in their homes right now, of course health care workers and retail staff but also people who provide other essential services which allow us to have electricity, water and internet in our homes.

I wanted to just check in today and see how everyone is doing. I also wanted to share a song with you which has been in my head for a couple of weeks now, probably the most fun song you'll ever hear about living on this planet after an apocalypse... the message of it is as relevant today as it was back in 1988 when Talking Heads recorded it for the "Naked" album.

Stay safe and well kids, and please, be kind to each other. This shit isn't easy on anyone. xo

Way Back Wednesday - This Must Be The Place

It's Wednesday.

Happy Wednesday.

It's also Ash Wednesday.  When I realized that this morning, I felt bad because I did not have pancakes for dinner last night.  Talk about a missed opportunity.  One of the nice things about atheism is that I don't have to give anything up for 40 days AND, if I'm so inclined, I can have a Cadbury Easter Cream Egg just because.  Ha! (Thank you to the Friendly Atheist for the graphic!)

For Way Back Wednesday, I'm sharing a song which has been stuck in my head for two days now.  It's a super excellent earworm though so it's totally fine with me.
